HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM DIRECTOR - Troy, Alabama

Role Description

Purpose of Position: The High School Program Director supports the Executive Director in the effective day-to-day leadership and management of Common Ground Troy, following the strategic direction established in collaboration with the Board of Directors. Responsibilities will be distributed across three focus areas: Program Development, Community Relations, and Fundraising.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Personal Expectations

  • A commitment to a purposeful and Spirit-led following of Jesus, both in personal devotion and moral conduct.

  • Be an active and dedicated member of a local church.

  • Demonstrate personal initiative by performing all assigned role functions with excellence and within the designated timeframes.

Leadership Expectations and Functions

Program Development

  • Assist in the efficient and effective daily operations of the organization.

  • Help with the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of special projects.

  • Support the Executive Director in organizing and planning High School Enrichment programs.

  • Mentor and lead one class of students each year.

  • Visit the local high school weekly to build and nurture relationships.

  • Recruit adequate volunteers for high school enrichment programs.

  • Participate in an annual review each January.

Community Relations

  • Develop healthy relationships with local schools, civic leaders, Troy University, and other organizations to achieve the organization’s goals.

  • Build authentic relationships with community members through meal-sharing and other personal interactions.

  • Be an engaged and visible presence within the Troy community.

  • Represent the organization at community events and in media engagements.

Fundraising

  • Assist the Executive Director with fundraising efforts for the organization’s operations.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish a fundraising strategy.

  • Contribute content for the organizational newsletter.

Work Commitment

  • Work is set at 40 hours per week.

  • The work week is Monday through Thursday.

Rest Commitment

  • One full day of rest is required each week, focusing on family and life-giving activities.

  • Engage in at least one interaction with a mentor each month during work hours.

  • Set aside time each workday for prayer and intercession related to ministry and Christ-centered activities, and introspection.
